Assam reports 4 new COVID-19 cases, total tally 106

Assam on May 18 reported four new cases of COVID-19 taking the total number of cases in the state to 106.

Two persons were detected COVID-19 positive in Cachar district while two others were found with the virus in Golaghat.

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the same and added that the total number of active cases in the state now stands at 60 while 41 others recovered from the disease and were released from the hospitals subsequently.

On May 18, a COVID-19 patient admitted at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati died taking the total death toll in the state to 3. He was suffering from cancer and had recently travelled to Guwahati from Mumbai.

Of the total 106 cases, two patients migrated to other states.
