The total number of COVID-19 patients in Assam went past 1000 on May 29 with the detection of 89 fresh cases.
Assam reported 89 fresh COVID-19 cases in the evening of May 29, taking the total number of cases in the state to 1024. Till now 144 fresh cases of COVID-19 came to light on May 29.
Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that 30 new cases were detected from Kamrup while 17 were detected from Tinsukia. As many as 14 cases each were reported from Guwahati and Dhubri; 10 from Cachar and four from Dhemaji districts.
With the detection of the new cases, the number of active cases in the state stands at 892.
