A Border Security Force (BSF) official posted in Tripura was tested positive for COVID-19 on May 12. Tripura reported the lone case after testing 710 samples on May 12.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb informed that the lone positive case was from the 138th Battalion of the BSF in Dhalai district of Tripura.

With this new case, the number of positive cases in Tripura went up to 151 while two each were migrated and recovered.

Deb added that all the COVID-19 patients in the state are under proper medication with expert doctors taking care of them.

“Today in #COVID19 test among 710 civilians and BSF officials of 138th Battalion, Dhalai district, one BSF official was found COVID-19 positive. All patients are under proper medication, team of expert doctors are taking care of them. I pray for their speedy recovery,” the chief minister tweeted.

Tripura had recently witnessed a surge in number of positive cases among the BSF troopers posted at Ambassa in Dhalai district.
