A college teacher was arrested by Mangaldai Police in central Assam on charges of misbehaving with on-duty police official on May 6.

According to police, Rupa Rani Bhuyan, who teaches English in Mangaldai College, was summoned to the Mangaldai police station in connection with an FIR against her.

She reportedly abused the investigating officer Twinkle Goswami, a sub-inspector of the police station, and threatened to hit her physically.

Goswami filed a complaint against Bhuyan at the same police station and the latter was arrested based on it.

Bhuyan was initially asked to appear before the police in connection with a case pertaining to alleged abusive posts by her on social media regarding reverend Assamese literateur Syed Abdul Malik.
