Five more persons, including three women, have tested positive for Novel Coronavirus in Meghalaya, taking the total number of active cases to seven in the state, a health official said on May 27.

The five persons were part of the 101 returnees from Delhi and Haryana who have arrived in the state on May 25 evening.

“All the five infected persons are stable. They are currently in Corona Care Centre and they will be then shifted to COVID-19 hospital in Shillong Civil hospital,” Director of Health Services Aman Warr said.

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, who tweeted in the wee hours of May 27, said all the patients are ‘asymptomatic’.

With the detection of this case, the state has recorded 20 COVID-19 cases out of which 12 have recovered, one succumbed to the virus and two are active cases.
