A former SSB jawan allegedly shot dead his wife, son and uncle in their residence in Hukanpukhuri area, under Borbora police station, in Dibrugarh district of Assam on May 18.

Police said the former jawan, identified as Sanjay Das, first shot his wife while she was busy in the kitchen in the morning. He then shot their 21-year-old son, who was still sleeping, before marching out of the house.

Das then went to his maternal uncle’s house situated nearby, and shot his uncle, before fleeing the scene.

All three were taken to Assam Medical College and Hospital in Dibrugarh, but they succumbed to the bullet injuries.

Police have started investigation into the case and also launched a man hunt to nab Das.
