The exam was earlier scheduled to be held on May 17, but was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

After announcing the dates of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has announced holding the JEE Advanced on August 23.

In a video message, Pokhriyal asked students to stay safe during the pandemic and asked students to download the Arogya Setu App.

IIT Delhi has been entrusted the task of holding IIT JEE Exam 2020 which is the screening test for students seeking admission to IITs and NITS.

The announcement of JEE Advanced 2020 Exam comes following the confirmation of JEE Main 2020 Engineering Entrance Exam, slated to be held in July.

The JEE Main will be held from July 18 to July 23 and the results are expected to be announced in early August.

Only those who make it to the list of top 2.5 lakh of JEE Main – including January and April (now May) sessions – can sit for the exam.
