As many as 47 new COVID-19 cases were detected from Assam on May 26 morning. The total number of cases in Assam now stands at 595.

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that among the new cases, Golaghat reported the highest number of cases.

The minister tweeted that 21 new cases were detected from Golaghat, eight from Morigaon, five from Nagaon, four from Lakhimpur, three from Goalpara, two from Karbi Anglong and one each from Hojai and MMCH in Guwahati.

With the detection of the new cases, the number of active cases in the state stands at 526 while 62 patients recovered from the disease and were released from the hospitals. Assam reported four deaths due to COVID-19 related complications.
