With relaxation in movement during third phase of lockdown, the Assam Transport department was running minimum buses to ensure no unnecessary travel.

State Transport Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary said, “The movement of people is being allowed during the third phase of the lockdown in most parts of the state. However, to ensure that there is no unnecessary travel, we have kept the number of buses to minimum.”

“It is our appeal to the people to follow the lockdown rules. Physical distancing and personal hygiene must be maintained,” he added.

He informed that the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) is running 200 city buses in Guwahati and 283 inter-district buses.
