Nagaland on May 28 recorded nine new cases of COVID-19. With these, the total number of active Coronavirus-infected cases rose to 18.

According to official sources, out of the nine COVID-19 cases, six were tested positive in Dimapur while three tested in Kohima.

All the 18 COVID-19 positive patients are undergoing treatment at the respective districts in the designated COVID-19 hospitals. They are reportedly in stable condition.

With these cases so far, Dimapur has registered 12 positive cases while five cases were detected in Kohima and one in Tuensang.

Nagaland Principal Secretary for Home, Abhijit Sinha, in his daily briefing for COVID-19 situation of the state said, “Today nine more people who have returned to Nagaland have been tested positive for COVID-19.”

“All the positive persons are being kept under medical observation at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals. Further, active surveillance and contact tracing in connection with the positive cases are being carried out,” he informed.

Sinha also added that till date a total of 1702 samples were tested in the state. Results for 426 samples are still awaited.
