14 new COVID-19 cases in Sikkim

Sikkim reported 14 new COVID-19 cases on June 12. All the new cases are from among Mumbai and West Bengal returnees, officials said.

Among the new cases, 12 are from Ranipul and near Saramsa Garden quarantine centre while two from Gangtok Girls’ School quarantine centre. They have been shifted to government hospital in Gangtok.

All the 3 facility quarantine centres have been declared COVID-19 containment zones respectively, officials said.

Out of the 14 new cases, 11 are females and three males and of them two returnees are from West Bengal while 12 from Mumbai, said Pempa Tshering Bhutia, director general and secretary health on June 12.

The youngest is 2 years and 3 months old. Out of earlier 10 patients, 3 have been discharged and now altogether there are 21 cases in hospital.
