Around 170 stranded people in Mumbai will fly back to their home in Barak Valley of Assam on June 9 in a special flight, reportedly arranged by Bollywood actor Sonu Sood.

AirAsia will operate a special flight from Mumbai to Silchar on June 9. News website Barak Bulletin reported that the flight has been arranged by Bollywood actor Sonu Sood.

“Many people who were stuck at Mumbai called me for help. I think it’s my responsibility to take care of them. It’s good that they are going back home tomorrow,” Sood was quoted as saying by the news website.

The report added that the actor may see-off the passengers on June 9 from Mumbai airport.

The Bollywood star was in news recently for his humanitarian work during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Dabangg actor has been helping migrants reach home amid the lockdown by arranging for chartered buses, trains and flights.
