Arunachal Pradesh reported five new cases of COVID-19 on June 2, taking the state’s tally to 27.

The state now has 26 active cases as the first patient had already recovered from the disease and was released from the hospital on April 17.

“Five new positive cases have been reported. Total cases 27, active 26 and one recovered,” Directorate of Health Services Arunachal Pradesh informed through a tweet on June 2.

The new cases were detected from Capital Complex and Lohit district.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu informed that all the five new cases detected are asymptomatic.

“Five new positive asymptomatic cases have been reported; Itanagar-4 and Lohit-1. All are in Quarantine facility centre being shifted to COVID Care Centre,” Khandu wrote in a social media post.

On June 1, Arunachal Pradesh recorded its highest single-day spike of COVID-19 cases with 18 new cases.
