Assam flood claims one more life; toll at 10

The flood situation in Assam steadied although the death toll has increased to 10 on June 3 with one death reported in the last 24 hours.

The casualty was reported from Lakhipur in Goalpara district, which has been in the worst-affected district in this first wave of flood.

Four districts of the state were still reeling under floods, though no major river was flowing above the danger level.

More than 1.44 lakh people were still affected by the floods, while 2,913 displaced people were sheltered in 21 relief camps.

Over 1.16 lakh people in Goalpara were still hit by floods.
