The number of active COVID-19 cases in Assam crossed 2,000 with the detection of 247 new cases on June 7. The overall COVID-19 tally in the state now stands at 2981.
State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that while 247 new cases were detected on June 7, the increase in the overall count was by 208 due to ‘over reporting of 39 cases’ on June 6.
The number of active cases in the state has crossed 2,000-mark for the first time and now stands at 2038.
Meanwhile, 48 patients were discharged from different hospitals on June 7, taking the number of recovered cases to 2038.
The state has been witnessing a massive spike in new cases with over 800 cases detected in the last four days.
