COVID-19 cases reach 1234 in Manipur; 681 still active

Manipur on June 30 reported seven COVID-19 positive cases, taking the total number of infected persons in the state to 1234.

In the last 24 hours, 660 samples were tested at VRDL of JNIMS and seven persons were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases. Among the fresh cases, one each was reported from Bishnupur, Imphal East and Kangpokpi districts while four cases came to light from Senapati district.

Officials said that all the cases were from among those who returned from other states. They were being shifted to COVID Care Facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

On June 30, 59 persons were discharged from COVID Care Centres in Meitram, Ukhrul, RIMS, JNIMS and District Hospital Churachandpur, after the patients recovered from the disease.

With this, the number of recovered persons in the state stands at 553, while 681 cases are still active.
