COVID-19 cases reach 172 in Manipur

The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Manipur has increased to 172 on June 7.

Among the 172 cases, 120 are still active in the state, said Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, Additional Director and Spokesperson Health department, Manipur on June 7.

So far, 52 persons have recovered from the disease.

Late night on June 6, 15 persons were confirmed as COVID-19 positive at VRDLs of RIMS and JNIMS. Three of these cases were reported from JNIMS.

Among the positive cases, six were reported from Thoubal district, five from Ukhrul, three from Kangpokpi and a case was from Imphal West. They were returnees from Mumbai and Delhi.

Their health conditions were stable and they were shifted to the COVID Care facilities in RIMS and JNIMS.

All necessary control measures like containment and contact tracing were now in place.
