Arunachal Pradesh government on June 6 announced that all religious institutions and worship places will remain closed till June 30.

“In the interest of public and invoking of the Arunachal Pradesh Epidemic Disease, (Prevention of COVID-19) Regulations, 2020, all religions institutions/places of worship shall remain closed till June 30. This is issued with the approval of the competent authority,” the order, signed by Health Secretary P Parthiban, read.

Informing the same, Chief Minister Pema Khandu in a social media post wrote, “As preventive measure from #COVID19, all religious institutions and worship places in Arunachal Pradesh will remain closed till 30th June to avoid mass gatherings until further order.”

Arunachal Pradesh reported 49 cases of COVID-19 so far out of which active cases stand at 48 and one recovered.

Union Ministry of Home Affairs, in its new guidelines issued for fifth phase of lockdown, allowed religious places to reopen from June 8.
