UK records highest daily COVID-related death toll since March

Ten people in Arunachal Pradesh tested positive for COVID-19 on June 23 while 16 patients were discharged after they recovered from the disease.

Of the 10 new cases detected from quarantine facilities, nine are from Itanagar Capital Complex and one from Tawang district, a senior Health official said on June 23.

β€œThe cases reported from Itanagar Capital Complex had returned from Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar, Maharashtra, Assam, West Bengal and Manipur while the Tawang patient returned from Delhi,” State Surveillance Officer L Jampa said.

He informed that the new cases from Itanagar Capital Complex are asymptomatic and shifted to COVID Care Centre (CCC).

The case reported from Tawang, a resident of West Kameng district, is co-morbid with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and being referred to DHC-TRIHMS, Jampa said in a statement.

He further said that 16 COVID-19 patients – 14 from Changlang district and one each from West Siang and Lower Dibang Valley districts – were discharged on June 23 as they have tested negative in two consecutive samples and advised for strict 14-days home quarantine and self-monitoring.

The lone COVID-19 positive case from West Siang district was released from CCC at Circuit House Aalo. The patient had tested positive on June 4.

West Siang DC Moki Loyi appealed to the patient to remain in strict home quarantine for 14 days and follow self-reporting norms and obey all SOP norms like social distancing, wearing of mask and use of sanitizers on daily basis at home.

“We should hate the ailment not the ailing,” the DC said.

Arunachal Pradesh reported 158 cases of COVID-19 so far out of which active cases in the state stands at 120 while 38 recovered.

Changlang district has the highest number of COVID-19 cases. The district reported 76 cases so far out of which active cases stands at 60 and 16 recovered.

A total of 20,398 samples have been collected so far for COVID-19 testing, out of which 18,329 tested negative while results of 1623 are awaited.
