11 tested positive for COVID-19 in Manipur

Eleven persons were tested positive for COVID-19 in Manipur in the last 24 hours while 11 others recovered from the disease, an official said in Imphal on July 11.

Health department spokesperson, Khoirom Sashekumar Mangang, on July 11 informed that in the last 24 hours, six females and five males were found COVID-19 positive in the state.

The positive patients were reported from VRDL at RIMS and SDH, Lab Jiribam. They belonged to Imphal West, Jiribam and Ukhrul districts.

The official informed that the patients were being shifted to COVID care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, Khoirom added.

In the past 24 hours, 11 persons were discharged from COVID Care Centes in Meitram, Kamjong and Ukhrul after they were found COVID-19 free on RT-PCR test, the official informed.

With the detection of the fresh cases, the total number of cases reported in the state climbed to 1593. The number of active cases remained at 750 with the release of as many patients as new cases.

The number of recovered cases in the state was 843.
