Assam on July 13 reported 1,001 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the total count of reported cases in the state to 17,807.
Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed through a tweet last night on July 13 that in the last 24 hours the state recorded 1,001 fresh cases out of which 513 were detected from Guwahati.
“1001 new #COVID19 positive patients in Assam, 513 in Guwahati alone. Keep patience and take required precautions. Don’t panic, for this too shall pass,” the minister tweeted.
He informed that with the detection of the fresh cases, the total number of active cases in the state now stand at 6348 while 11,416 others recovered from the disease.
Assam reported 40 deaths due to complications related to COVID-19.
On July 13, as many as 522 patients were released from the hospitals and COVID Care Centres after they recovered from the disease.
Guwahati has been witnessing a spike in number of positive cases even as the government has enforced a 14-day total lockdown since June 29 which now has been extended till July 19.
