Nagaland reported 34 new COVID-19 cases on July 2 while the state reported 42 new cases on July 1, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 535 with 353 of them still active.
State Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom informed that 34 fresh cases came to light on July 2. The positive cases were from Peren quarantine centre, and one each from Kohima and Dimapur quarantine centres.
Earlier, Nagaland Principal Secretary for Home Abhijit Sinha, in his daily briefing on the COVID-19 situation in the state, informed that the 42 new cases were reported from quarantine centres in Peren, Phek, Kohima and Dimapur taking the total tally to 501.
As many as 182 people have recovered from the disease in the state. All the positive persons were receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals.
On July 1, Nagaland reported 14 recoveries from the Dimapur district with 10 from Assam Rifles Hospital at Sukhovi near Dimapur and 4 from Dimapur COVID-19 Hospital, Sinha said.
Till date, a total of 12,268 samples have been tested. Results of 11,630 have been received. Out of the total samples, 8070 samples have been received at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) and a total of 7881 samples have been tested, out of which 388 have tested positive, he said.
In addition a total of 5669 samples have been tested by Truenat, out of which 110 samples tested positive and sent for confirmation by RT-PCR, Sinha informed.
