A person undergoing treatment for COVID-19 and related complications at Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) in Naharlagun, died on July 13.

The death toll due to COVID-19 related complications went up to 3 in Arunachal Pradesh, a daily bulletin issued by the state Health department confirmed.

The bulletin added that the patient was suffering from Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome and Type-II diabetes. He was admitted in TRIHMS on July 9.

On July 13, Arunachal Pradesh reported 27 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of cases in the state to 387. The number of active cases now stands at 239 while 145 patients recovered from the disease. The state recorded three deaths due to COVID-19 related complications.

Among the new cases, 22 were reported from Itanagar Capital Complex, two from Namsai and one from Changlang districts. East Kameng district reported two cases for the first time on July 13.

Health department bulletin stated that the positive case of Changlang is a returnee from Assam while the positive cases of Namsai are returnees from Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. Positive cases of East Kameng are returnees from Bihar and Meghalaya.

“All are asymptomatic and detected from quarantine facility,” the bulletin added.

Among the 22 cases reported from Itanagar Capital Complex, 10 ITBP personnel who are returnees from Assam were infected with the virus. All of them were detected from quarantine facility.

Eight other cases from Itanagar Capital Complex include positive cases from Naharlagun A-Sector (3) and one each from Model Village, Prem Nagar, E-sector, D-sector and Polo Colony.

Four positive cases of ICC were from among healthcare workers detected from TRIHMS (2) and DHS (2).

The bulletin added that 4 cases from ICC are having mild symptomatic while the rest are all asymptomatic and being shifted to COVID Care Centres.

On July 13, seven patients were released from COVID Care Centres after they recovered from the disease. These include three patients in Changlang, two in Tirap and one each in Namsai and West Siang districts.
