Two more Border Security Force trooper tested positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram, officials said on July 9.

The jawans were tested positive from central Mizoram’s Serchhip district, taking the total number of detected cases in the state to 203.

Out of the 203 people infected with the disease, 60 are active patients while 143 have recovered already, the officials said.

The two jawans belonged to 60th Battalion of BSF and had returned from Assam’s Dholcherra recently.

They have been placed under quarantine since their arrival in the state on June 25 at Vahne camp in Lunglei district and later they were shifted to their original posting place at Dawngzawl in Serchhip district on July 3 where they were again quarantined.

Meanwhile, all the 35 primary contacts of 15 NDRF personnel, who have tested positive for COVID-19 on July 4 and July 6 at Lungverh camp near Aizawl, were found negative for the virus, according to a statement by state information and public relation department.
