Meghalaya recorded 52 more COVID-19 positive cases till August 10 morning, taking active cases up to 610, even as eight patients recovered from the viral infection.

Eleven new cases, including 10 civilians and one from the Air Force were detected in East Khasi Hills, 39 cases, including 29 BSF troopers and 10 civilians in West Garo Hills and one Armed Force personnel and a civilian tested positive for COVID-19 in Ri-Bhoi district, director of health services, Aman War said.

With 427 active cases, including 267 civilians, 91 BSF and 69 armed forces, East Khasi Hills is the most affected district in Meghalaya.

In other districts, Ri-Bhoi has 85, 65 in West Garo Hills, 15 in West Jaintia Hills, six each in East Jaintia Hills and West Khasi Hills besides two each in South West Garo Hills, North Garo Hills and South Garo Hills.

“Eight persons, including three civilians in East Khasi Hills and five persons (one BSF trooper and four civilians) in West Garo Hills recovered as on Monday, taking the number of recoveries in the state to 498,” War said.
