60 new COVID-19 cases reported in Arunachal

Sixty more people were tested positive for COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh on August 3, taking the state’s tally to 1,758.

Of the 60 new cases, 14 were reported from East Siang, 13 from Namsai, nine from Changlang, six from Lower Siang, five each from Itanagar Capital Complex and East Kameng, three each from Papum Pare and West Siang, one each from West Kameng and Longding, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services (DHS).

Out of the 14 cases from East Siang, four are healthcare workers, two are returnees, one is a truck driver and seven are detected from Pasighat, it said.

Of the 13 cases from Namsai, 11 are primary contacts of positive case detected earlier and two at checkgate. Six out of the nine cases from Changlang are Central Para-Military Forces (CPMF) personnel, the bulletin said.

Among five cases from Itanagar Capital Complex, two were detected from SQF, Lekhi and three at checkgates.

“Fifty-six are asymptomatic cases and four symptomatic,” it said.

As per the bulletin issued by the DHS on August 3 night, 67 COVID-19 patients were discharged following their recovery from the virus.

Of the 67 discharged, 45 were from Itanagar Capital Complex, seven from Lohit, six from Upper Siang, five from Yupia (Papum Pare), one each from Changlang, Lower Dibang Valley, Kamle and Lower Siang.

Arunachal Pradesh recorded 1,758 COVID-19 cases so far. Out of these, active cases in the state stands at 692, discharged 1063 and three deaths.
