Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on August 31 extended the ban on international flights, barring exceptions mentioned by the government, till September 30.

In a circular, the DGCA extended the period of the order issued in this regard from August 31 to September 30.

It clarified that the order will not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights approved by the DGCA.

Also, regular international flights may be allowed on select routes on case to case basis.

International flights in the country have been closed since March 22 to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Domestic flights were also banned since March 25, but a limited number of domestic flights had started from May 25.
