Arunachal Pradesh on August 18 reported 133 fresh COVID-19 cases with Daporijo in Upper Subansiri district reporting 65 cases.
The daily bulletin from the Directorate of Health Services, stated that 65 persons were tested positive for COVID-19 from Daporijo town through RDT-Ag tests. The bulletin stated that containment zone has been declared around New Market area in Daporijo.
Among other positive cases, 22 were detected in West Kameng, 16 in Itanagar Capital Complex, eight each in Tirap and Changlang districts, three in Tawang, two each in East Kameng, Shi-Yomi and Papumpare and one each in Leparada, Siang, West Siang, East Siang and Namsai districts.
Of the total newly detected cases, 120 patients are asymptomatic, and 13 others are showing symptoms of the disease.
On August 18, 55 patients were released from the COVID care facilities after they recovered from the disease. A maximum of 20 patients were released in East Kameng district.
With the detection of the fresh cases, Arunachal Pradesh now has reported 2875 positive cases out of which 921 are active cases. As many as 1949 patients recovered from the disease in the state while five others succumbed to COVID-19 related complications.
