Manipur government has formed a special task force for effective implementation of the new education policy in the state.

State Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam on August 18 said that the formation of the special task force for effective implementation of the new education policy has been finalised and is ready for implementation in the state.

Briefing the media, the minister said as a part of the series of steps being taken up for implementation of the new education policy, brainstorming sessions, discussions and meetings on the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020 are being conducted with experts and officials by the Department of Education.

Radheshyam said that a meeting regarding the matter was held for the third time on August 18 with the representatives of central institutions imparting higher education and officials and principals of DM University.

He said during the meeting, detailed discussion was held with the officials of the central institutions in the state and principals in respect of higher education with special focus on implementation of the National Education Policy, 2020.

The meeting took consideration of the various suggestions and inputs as such of organising several rounds of seminars, discussions workshops at every level of higher education, wide publicity of NEP, 2020, with the distribution of the copy of NEP, 2020 to all the faculties of the institution by the head of the respective institute, and to take support of the various government departments while opening the various disciplines in the institute.
