Two more die of COVID-19 in Arunachal

Two more COVID-19 deaths were reported in Arunachal Pradesh, taking the total number of fatalities in the state to seven.

According to State Surveillance Officer L Jampa, a 65-year-old woman with chronic kidney disease for last two years was admitted in Dedicated COVID-19 Hospital (DCH), Chimpu in Itanagar on August 25 after she tested positive for COVID-19. She expired at 10:30 am on August 28.

“A 44-year-old Havilder, from Unit-18 Kumaon, 190 Mtn Bgd expired on August 27 at 181-Military Hospital (MH), Tenga in West Kameng. He was tested COVID-19 positive on August 16,” Jampa added.

The senior Health official informed that the Army personnel had fever with chills, dry cough and headache since August 12. He was treated at 305 MH-Khirmu in Tawang since August 15, and then referred to MH-181 Tenga, West Kameng, when his condition deteriorated.

The state continues to witness spike in COVID-19 cases with detection of 112 new infections, taking the tally to 3,745.

Of the 112 cases, 23 were reported from Itanagar Capital Complex, 18 from Papum Pare, 17 from Siang, 10 each from West Kameng and Lower Siang, eight from East Siang, five each from Tawang and East Kameng, four from Changlang, three each from Anjaw and West Siang, two each from Leparada, Pakke Kessang and Tirap, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services (DHS) on August 28 night.

As many as 88 COVID-19 patients were also discharged following their recovery from the virus. Out of these, the highest number of patients discharged were reported from Upper Subansiri (29) followed by Itanagar Capital Complex (23).

Total active cases in the state stands at 1,029 and 2,709 discharged.
