160 new cases, one die of COVID-19 in Manipur

A 39-year-old man from Thoubal district in Manipur died of COVID-19 taking the total number of deaths in the state due to the viral infection to 40.

The patient succumbed to COVID-19 related complications at JNIMS.

Manipur on September 9 reported 160 fresh COVID-19 cases taking the total number of cases in the state to 7362.

In the past 24 hours, 135 persons from general population and 25 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases.

A government official informed that the positive patients were being shifted to COVID Care facilities and all necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing were in place.

In the past 24 hours, 64 persons were discharged from the COVID Care facilities after they recovered from the disease.

With this, the total number of recovered people from the disease went up to 5,548 while 1,774 cases are still active.
