In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Delhi government on September 18 announced that the schools in the national capital will remain closed till October 5. However, online classes and activities for students will continue as usual.

“It is informed that all schools will remain closed for all the students till October 5. However, online classes and teaching learning activities will continue as usual, and HOSs are authorised to call teachers/staff for smooth conduct of online classes, teaching learning activities and any other work,” an official order issued by the directorate of education (DoE), government of NCT said.

“All the heads of the government, government aided, unaided private recognised schools of directorate of education and local bodies — MCDs, NDMC and Delhi cantonment board are hereby directed to disseminate this information among the teaching, non-teaching staff, students and parents through SMC members/ mass SMS facility/ phone calls/ other means. This issues with the approval of competent authority,” the order added.
