The Election Commission of India (ECI) on September 29 announced byelections to two assembly seats each in Manipur and Nagaland in November.

The byelection for the two assembly seats in Nagaland will be held on November 3 while that for the two assembly seats in Manipur will be held on November 7.

The counting of votes will be held on November 10 and the entire election process will be completed before November 12, the commission said.

The elections will coincide with the assembly elections in Bihar.

“After taking into consideration various factors like weather conditions, movement of forces, pandemic etc, the commission has decided to hold byelections,” a note from the Election Commission said.
