Railway Protection Force (RPF) of East Central Railway has busted racket of illegal railway e-tickets worth Rs 1 crore and arrested one person in this connection.

RPF sources in Chhapra, Bihar, said on September 6 that an owner of cyber cafe Deepak Kumar Singh of Parsagarh under Ekma police station area, was nabbed on the basis of a tip-off.

Total e-tickets worth Rs 10,342, tickets of Rs 16,000 of dates already travelled, Rs 25,000 in cash, two monitors, two CPUs, three laptops, one scanner, two laser printers, and two cell phones were recovered from the arrested person, police added.

Sources said that fake e-tickets worth Rs 1 crore had been sold by Singh which he accepted during the interrogation.

Racket of fake e-tickets was going on since 2018, police stated.
