Two drug peddlers held in Arunachal

The anti-drug squad (ADS) of Changlang district police in Arunachal Pradesh apprehended two drug peddlers.

Acting on a tip-off about drug trafficking at Laktong area under Changlang PS, the ADS team conducted a raid at suspect house on September 28.

During search, the ADS recovered approximately 1.49 kg suspect cloth smeared opium which were hidden by burring under the floor. The alleged opium peddler, identified as Kamjam Hangphuk (40), has been arrested.

Accordingly, a case was registered at Changlang Police Station under the NDPS Act.

During investigation, the arrested accused revealed the name of his accomplice who had delivered him the opium.

Based on his disclosure, the ADS arrested his partner identified as Hungwang Hangsik (40) resident of New Kuthung village under Lazu circle in Tirap district on September 29.

In another incident, on September 24, the district police apprehended two drug peddlers identified as Alex Dorjee (19) and Nenthok Handik (27) from Namdang area and recovered approximately 13 gm suspect brown sugar from their possession.
