Five die, 322 new COVID-19 cases in Manipur

Five persons died of COVID-19 while 322 new cases were detected in Manipur on October 18.

The state also recorded 298 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

The total toll in the state climbed to 116 on October 18 with the death of five persons.

Complete lockdown was enforced in Thangmeiband area of Imphal West considering spread of COVID-19 in the area.

In the past 24 hours, 309 persons from general population and 13 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases.

All were without any significant travel history. They were shifted to the COVID Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing were in place.

On October 18, 298 patients were discharged from the care facilities and home isolation after they recovered from the viral infection.

The state now has recorded 15,463 positive cases out of which 11,741 recovered while the number of active cases stands at 3,606.
