Sanjit Krishna, who was recently transferred as SP, FRRO, Barpeta, had arrived at the DGP office in Guwahati during the day, from where a team of CID sleuths detained him.

Krishna had appeared for questioning by the CID, which is investigating the paper leak scam, but had been reportedly absconding for the last two days.

The CID had, in the meantime, also searched his residence in Guwahati, along with the residence of an ASP, Prasanta Dutta, in Guwahati.

Dutta is currently posted in Karimganj, while Sanjit Krishna’s last positing was as SP of the same district.

Their names have emerged in the question paper leak scam, in which retired DIG PK Dutta, and BJP leader Deban Deka, have already been arrested, among others, including police personnel.

Both are in judicial custody currently.

The scam pertains to leak of question paper of examination for recruitment of sub-inspectors of Assam Police which was scheduled on September 22.

The examination was cancelled and has now been re-scheduled for November.
