Assam Cricket Association secretary, Devajit Saikia, met top BCCI office bearers, including president Sourav Ganguly, during a recent visit to Dubai and apprised them of activities of the state body.

Along with Ganguly, Saikia also met BCCI secretary Jay Shah, treasurer Arun Singh Dhumal and other officials of BCCI during his recent visit to Dubai for the IPL 2020 finals.

During the meeting, Saikia apprised them of the various infrastructural projects being undertaken by Assam Cricket Association across the state for the development of the game of cricket during the last few months of pandemic.

The BCCI officials expressed satisfaction and assured all possible support and help for executing the projects.

During the meeting, the BCCI officials were also informed about the findings of the verification committee with respect to alleged financial anomalies that took place between June 2016 to January 2019.

It was informed that Assam Cricket Association would decide on the future course of action regarding the matter relating to alleged misutilization of funds in due consultation with BCCI.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah assured Saikia that he would visit Assam and other Northeast states very shortly to inspect the existing cricket infrastructure and other cricket activities in the region.
