Nine more die of COVID-19 in Manipur

Nine people died of COVID-19 related complications in Manipur on November 2.

In the past 24 hours, two patients died at Raj Medicity, four at RIMS and three patients died at JNIMS. With this, the total death toll in Manipur due to COVID-19 has climbed to 180.

Among the dead included five persons from Imphal West, three from Thoubal and one from Bishnupur.

On November 2, as many as 341 fresh cases of COVID-19 were detected in Manipur. In the past 24 hours, 313 persons from general population and 28 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases, state health department report in Imphal said on November 2.

All the patients from the general population were locals without any significant travel history. The patients were being shifted to the COVID Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing were in place.

During the day, 278 patients were discharged after they recovered from the viral infection. The total number of recovered patients in Manipur has reached 15,343 while 3,568 cases are still positive in the state.

Manipur till date has reported 19,091 positive cases of COVID-19.
