NTPC Bongaigaon on November 7 celebrated the 46th Raising Day of NTPC.

Speaking on the occasion, CGM at NTPC Bongaigaon, Rakesh Kumar recalled the contributions of the employees towards making of the organisation. He appreciated that NTPC Bongaigaon achieved the highest ever monthly DC of 103.3%, after inception of all 3 units, in June this year.

The plant also received the highest Quarterly DC of 103.05%, after inception of all 3 units, in first quarter of the current financial year. Besides, it also achieved annual DC of 102.5% in FY 20-21 till date- which is best among NTPC stations.

The station ran a maximum continuous run of unit 1 for 123 days, unit 2 for 91 days and unit 3 for 59 days.

In FY 19-20, NTPC signed new long-term fuel supply agreements for 0.85 MTPA with ECL for Bongaigaon unit 3.

For controlling SOx emission, NTPC has installed the Flue Gas Desulphurisation system in stage V of Vindhyachal station. The same is under commissioning at Bongaigaon, the CGM added. 

He outlined the initiatives taken in NTPC Bongaigaon on the O&M, environment, ash utilization and COVID-19 management front and thanked all union associations, welfare bodies and Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club for their constant support and feedback.
