Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, schools in Arunachal Pradesh are all set to reopen for students of classes 10 and 12 from November 16 with specific SoP.

Addressing a press conference in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh education minister Taba Tedir informed that a proposal was placed before the state cabinet to reopen schools in view of the CBSE examinations and it was decided to start the classes from November 16 following COVID-19 SoP.

There would be no pre-board exams for the students of classes 10 and 12, the minister informed.

He said that the proposal in this regard was placed before the cabinet as students living in remote areas are facing trouble to attend online classes because of network issues.

He further informed that state board exams of class 5 and 8 will not be conducted this year.

Education secretary Niharika Rai, who was also present, said: “As of now we are focused on opening classes 10 and 12 from November 16. If all goes well for 15 days, then probably we will discuss on opening classes 9 and 11 from December.”
