Manipur man held for harassing women on Facebook

Manipur Police has arrested a man for allegedly harassing multiple women on Facebook.

Police on August 19 said that on August 17, Cyber Crime Police Station (CCPS), Imphal, Manipur carried out a search and managed to arrest a man identified as, Mohd Sajid Khan (21) of Kshetri Awang Leikai, Khetrigao, Imphal East District.

Police said the arrest was made in connection with a case related to a complaint report at Cyber Crime Police Station (CCPS), wherein the complainant reported that an unknown Facebook account user having profile name “Prince Ali” chatted with the complainant’s daughter through Facebook messenger. The person sent “dirty and vulgar words” to the complainant’s daughter.

The man also threatened the complainant’s daughter that he would upload her morphed nude photos in Facebook if she did not send her naked photos. The accused also threatened her to give her mobile number if she did not want her morphed nude pictures to be made viral on social media.

Manipur Police seized mobile phones along with 3 SIM cards.

According to police, the arrested accused person is also wanted in two other FIR cases registered at Cyber Crime Police Station/CID(CB) for similar modus operandi crimes by creating fake Facebook accounts having profile name “Henthoi Apng” and “Sathiba Pakhng” to sexually harass different women.
