Four KNF cadres held in Manipur

Four cadres of Kuki National Front (KNF) were nabbed by a combined force of Manipur Police and troops in an operation which began on September 24 night.

Police on September 26 said a combined team of Manipur Police, 38 AR, intelligence agency and Kangpokpi district police launched a search operation leading to arrest of four cadres of KNF.

They were nabbed from a jungle near Gopibung village.

Police identified the four as Henpilal Haokip, Lalkhohao Kipgen, Manggoulal Kipgen and Letminlun Kipgen.

Two country made pistols along with one magazine each and four live rounds each of 9 mm caliber were recovered from them.

Preliminary enquiry revealed that Manggoulal Kipgen was the one who looted Rs 4000 from one truck driver and fired at a tyre of the truck on September 13 at KMC Lamkhai with one of the seized 9 mm pistol.
