COVID vaccine

Arunachal Pradesh government has decided to adopt the “Har Ghar Dastak” cluster approach to achieve 100 per cent COVID-19 vaccination in the villages.

State health minister Alo Libang, in a virtual meeting with health officials of all the districts, said that the government will enhance the COVID vaccination drive by targeting villages.

Under the ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ cluster approach, a robust micro plan will be prepared by each district for every circle. Mission director (NHM) CR Khampa said that all villages under each circle will be mapped. The detailed vaccination plan will be prepared for every single village. Every house will be visited by the vaccination team proactively and eligible beneficiaries, if identified, will be vaccinated immediately.

The timelines have been set for all the preparatory activities, and districts were instructed for the roll out of the cluster approach from November 8.

The initiative will be implemented intensively till November 30 targeting 100% first dose COVID-19 vaccination in every village.

In order to track the progress made on a daily basis, a reporting mechanism is being developed, which will be reviewed at the highest level in the state regularly.

Besides this, in all the administrative circles, every week, respective DCs would declare one circle as 100% first dose vaccinated circle, mission director (NHM) CR Khampa said.

During the discussion, health minister Alo Libang took note of the challenges faced, gave suggestions and encouraged the districts to gear up for implementing the ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ strategy.

He assured to lend every possible support in order to accomplish the mission of scaling up and achieving 100% COVID-19 vaccination through this strategy.
