India’s Harnaaz Sandhu was officially crowned Miss Universe 2021 on December 13.
Harnaaz Sandhu won the Miss Universe 2021 title beating 79 other contestants from various countries and territories.
Miss Paraguay Nadia Ferreira was the runner-up while second runner-up was Miss South Africa Lalela Mswane.
Miss India Harnaaz Sandhu was presented the crown by her successor, Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza, before taking her first walk as the new Miss Universe on the stage in Eilat, Israel on December 13.
Sandhu is a strong advocate for women’s empowerment. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, dancing, cooking, horse riding and playing chess.
Prior to the winning moment, the 70th annual Miss Universe competition, which was hosted by Steve Harvey, featured a swimsuit and evening gown segment, as well as an interview portion for each of the contestants.

Harnaaz Sandhu, who represented India at the finals of the 70th edition of the global beauty pageant Miss Universe 2021, won the crown making every Indian proud!
The Miss Universe finale was held in Israel.
Harnaaz Sandhu is only the third women from India to bring home the Miss Universe crown, after Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000.
A model and actress from Chandigarh, Harnaaz Sandhu has been a regular face at prestigious beauty pageants. She has also shot for two Punjabi films, ‘Yaara Diyan Poo Baran’ and ‘Bai Ji Kuttange’, both of which are scheduled to release in 2022.
Earlier, she had won the Miss Diva title.
