The Northeast Frontier Railway (NF Railway) has decided to restore the daily passenger train services between Tinsukia and Jorhat Town with effect from December 21.

The passenger train service will benefit short distance passengers in eastern Assam.

The Tinsukia-Jorhat Town passenger will run on six days a week, except on Saturday. It will leave Tinsukia station at 3:30 pm to reach Jorhat Town at 9:05 pm.

In the return direction, train no. 05917 Jorhat Town-Tinsukia passenger will run six days a week except on Sunday from December 22. It will leave Jorhat Town at 05:25 am to reach Tinsukia at 12:20 pm.

Besides this, the NF Railway also announced the resumption of the Katihar – Malda Town and Katihar – Malda Court passenger train from December 21.

Moreover, one special train will run between New Jalpaiguri and Trivandrum Central for six trips from each direction from this month.

“The details of timings and stoppages of these trains are available in IRCTC website and are also being notified in various mediums. Passengers are requested to observe the COVID-19 related safety measures and instructions of their respective states during journey,” a statement from the NF Railway said.
