Top CRPF officials review Nagaland security situation

Top officials of the CRPF reviewed the deployment of the force in Nagaland in the aftermath of the killing of civilians in Mon district of the state on December 4-5, an official report said on December 22.

ADG North East Zone CRPF, Sanjeev Ranjan Ojha along with Mahabir Singh Shekhawat, IG of Manipur and Nagaland reviewed CRPF deployment during his special visit to Nagaland covering Kohima, Zubza and Dimapur districts from December 15 to December 19, 2021, the official report said on December 22.

The report said that in spite of “high security threat and challenges of insurgency”, Ojha directed to ensure fool-proof security to the VIPs, vital installations, convoy protection etc. without any lapse and upkeep public peace and harmony.

The report then said that in order to avert fatal impact of the COVID third wave – variant of concern omicron, the CRPF official distributed COVID-care and hygiene items to the locals and troops during a function organised at Central School, Kohima on December 18 with special initiative of Syamchand De, DIG Kohima.

“He guided the troops to assist the locals in all possible kinds such as blood donation, disaster management, COVID/ AIDS awareness, cleanliness/ plantation drives etc. with humanitarian approach,” the official report said.

He sensitised CRPF troops to be prepared and remain on high alert always to respond to any flare up eventuality or contingency to ensure peace and tranquillity without public complaint and maintaining human rights norms with close coordination with the state administration and police. He also assured that CRPF is with the citizens ever and always, the official report added.
