A large number of people began their two-day walk from Dimapur to Kohima on January 10 morning demanding the repeal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and also demanding “justice for the massacre of 14 innocent civilians” on December 4 and 5 in Mon district by the security forces.
The walk began from Super Market in Dimapur and will culminate in the Nagaland capital on January 11.
Members from various organisations including Global Naga Forum (GNF), Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR), Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU), South Nagas Union of Nagaland State (SNUNS) and many more organisations and individuals are participating in the 74-km walk protesting the continued imposition of AFSPA in the state.
The rally began around 6 am and reached Medziphema around noon. The participants of the march had lunch there before they proceeded. They will hold tonight at Piphema.

They will reach Kohima on January 11.
The plan to have this programme was conceived after the Oting killing incident of December 4 and 5. It all began on social media and then things got concretized.
