Arunachal Pradesh is recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic as the daily fresh cases show a downward trend.

The daily cases of COVID-19 infections in the Northeast state continue to decline sharply. The state recorded nine fresh cases and 29 recoveries on February 20, a senior health official said.

Following this, Arunachal’s tally of confirmed cases has increased to 64,279 and the total number of recoveries rose to 63,681. Subsequently, the state’s active caseload has further dropped to 302.

With no fresh casualties reported in the last 24 hours, the state’s death toll remained at 296, the official said.

Of the fresh infections, Itanagar Capital Complex and Tawang accounted for two cases each, while one each came from Lohit, Namsai, Longding, Lower Dibang Valley and Tirap districts.

Four of the total cases were found to be asymptomatic and five symptomatic.

The day’s positivity rate was 4.56 per cent which stood at 3.43 per cent. The state collected merely 197 samples for COVID tests in the last 24 hours taking its cumulative count to 12,59,729.
