Royal Global University

The first convocation of The Assam Royal Global University will be held on March 30, on the university campus at Betkuchi in Guwahati.

Chancellor of the university, Ashok K Pansari, shall declare the first convocation open at 11 am which will be addressed by Assam governor Jagdish Mukhi who is also the visitor of Royal Global University.

The convocation speech will be delivered by vice chancellor of Delhi University, Yogesh Singh, RGU officials informed addressing the media on March 28.

On the occasion, the university shall confer honorary doctorates on three distinguished personalities – CNR Rao, an internationally acclaimed scientist and a Bharat Ratna awardee; Nagen Saikia, eminent litterateur of Assam and Sajjan Bhajanka, noted industrialist and social worker.

As many as 1723 students belonging to the classes of 2019, 2020, 2021 shall receive their degrees in the convocation.

The Royal Global University will also award gold medals to 61 graduating students and silver to 51 students.

The chancellor’s gold medal shall be awarded to five students and six students shall receive salvers for their special achievements.

Addressing the media on March 28, vice chancellor of Royal Global University, SP Singh, stated that the convocation had to be deferred earlier because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The first-ever convocation, which is expected to be attended by more than 4000 invitees along with the graduating students, is evoking great excitement on the campus, Singh added.
